Blog Journal #8
The Web Design assignment allowed me to practice skills such as website organization, formatting, and word choice. I used critical thinking skills to create a website that is organized in a way that a parent or student would be able to navigate with ease. The format of each page was important as I had required information that needed to be on each page such as photos and links to resources. I enjoyed writing from a teacher's perspective with the main purpose of informing the audience that would utilize the website. In my future career as a teacher, I will be able to use this practice of creating a website to know what information would be helpful for parents and students to have online access to. https://serenityheadleyeme2040spring2023.weebly.com/
Diigo is a great platform for sharing articles in an academic setting. This application allows you to annotate, bookmark, and add sticky notes to websites and creates a thread or blog of your communities contributions. Diigo would be a great addition to a classroom’s resources because all the students used web pages will be found in one place. Diigo is also great for collaboration as you can see your teammate's thoughts on different articles or they can add their thoughts to an article you have bookmarked.
The Participation Portfolio items on Padlet were a great method to convey that you understand how to use different online technologies by performing the assigned task. The Portfolio items were enjoyable because I saw them as small tasks that helped me learn how to use new platforms or methods online. I learned new skills such as advanced search on Google and found a new community on Twitter.
Teachers have an obligation to stay in the know with technology in order to implement modern changes to their classrooms and to their lesson plans. Using teacher blogs, such as the ones found on https://www.iste.org/, allow for a community of teachers to discuss current technology trends or solve problems collectively. Teachers must strive to learn more about current technology to help their students become technologically savvy inside and outside of the classroom setting.
Hey Serenity, I really enjoyed looking through your website because of the way the images and colors were displayed. You did a good job on making the website appealing to the viewers eye with the contrast of colors. I would like to add that I also liked how all of your images matched what was on the page, I have seen some websites that just have random pictures for some pages.
