  Copyright can be described as protecting the use of your creative or intellectual work unless given permission from the creator themselves. Fair use is when a consumer is able to defend how they are using such work and perhaps give credit to the creator. For example, if you are using materials for nonprofit educational reasons, you may not be infringing on copyright policies. As a future teacher, when I develop my instructional materials I will credit all accessed materials and reach out for permission to use their work in an educational manner. I will encourage my students to follow suit. Technology can be difficult to implement in an honest and educational manner. For example, academic dishonesty happens all too frequently in classroom settings due to students wanting the “easy way out”.   In my experience using Microsoft Word as a student, I have found it to be a useful and vital tool within the education system. In high school, I was able to become certified in Microsoft Word and similar programs, which helped me learn how to efficiently utilize the platform. Personally, I prefer Google Docs because its layout is clean, simple, and seemingly user-friendly to navigate. However, it is imperative to understand how to use both word processing software in order to adapt to different environments and have practical skillsets. The ISTE Standards for Educators are filled with great guidelines for encouraging growth and learning in a classroom environment. The standard that is most meaningful to me is “2.3.b: Establish a learning culture that promotes curiosity and critical examination of online resources and fosters digital literacy and media fluency”.        Hello all, my name is Serenity Headley and I am a third-year student at Florida State University. I am studying psychology, education, and french. I love creating videos and editing them, so I’m excited to learn more about using technology in a classroom setting. I also enjoy traveling and making new memories with people I love.      My prior experiences of using technology in an education setting usually revolve around using Microsoft Word and Powerpoint. In high school, I became certified in these programs, so I feel quite comfortable navigating them. In my college career, I’ve created presentations for group assignments using Google Slides.
